Referring to our letter of 22nd, ultimo to which

we have received no reply we beg to inform you that we have today received a duplicste letter (without enclosures) from London dated 8th. December, which shows that a telegram sent before that date has miscarried.

The letter also shows that important communion- -tions with regard to this matter are in course of transit. Under these ciramstances we trust the Government

will grant us the extension applied for.
